CAT Taster Workshops

Each year in the run up to the CAT Auditions, we offer Free CAT Taster Workshops to organisations, community groups and schools across the Region. The Taster Workshops are an opportunity for young people who have a passion and talent for dance, to explore their potential through a practical three hour session with a tutor from the CAT Programme.

We wish to work with young people aged 11-16 and offer workshops for a range of abilities. We are particularly keen to work with young people who show a true potential for dance, but whom may not have had the opportunity to explore this previously.

We are looking for Expressions of Interest from Organisations and Schools who would wish to offer their young people a CAT Taster Workshop hosted either at their venue or at The Lowry.

There is no charge for the sessions which last for three hours and can take place either in the morning, afternoon or evening.

We are now beginning to schedule workshops ahead of our 2019 Auditions. If you would be interested in hosting a workshop please complete the Expression of Interest Form and a member of The Lowry CAT Team will get in contact to arrange the workshop.

These free sessions will provide individuals with the opportunity to find out more about The Centre for Advanced Training in Dance.

They are catered for individual young people aged 11-16 who would like a taster of life as a CAT student and support in their preparation for the audition in June.

The sessions include a technical and creative dance workshop followed by the opportunity to observe the CAT students in class in order to gain a good understanding of what the CAT has to offer.
